Case – Efficiency / BonusScan
At a pharmaceutical company the target was set for cost savings by procurement, while maintaining the quality of the products and services bought. With the help of a multi-disciplinary team, managed by Bonus+, all effort was put to use the BonusScan to identify possibilities for standardization of the product groups, for example ingredients, creating a higher volume and therefore a more interesting package for possible suppliers.
During the same period, RFIs and RFPs were set out in the international market, and possible suppliers were audited.Putting this volume on the now more competitive market lead to a large and approved cost-saving.
The first year after the saving were approved, the specifications were examined much closer, in order to eliminate all gold-plating and non-functional demands. Later that year these new specifications were also put on the market for quotations, for delivery for a longer period. Again a saving was realized, thanks to the Bonus+Scan.
With the now selected suppliers a project-team was set-up, in order to gain all latest and modern insight information on the products and the developments in its markets. These consultation-sessions led to further flexible usage of ingredients, lowering supply-chain stock volumes and lowering TCO. Also, the BonusScan showed possibilities for relocation of production of the ingredients, which led to huge savings.
With the help of the Bonus+Scan, a huge result was achieved, of course with the help of employers of our client.
